There is nothing wrong with hiring a photographer to cover your games. Every program needs quality images. But there is a point where game-day photography is no longer the thing that is holding you back.
I have seen it enough times to know the pattern. Here are five signs your program has reached that point.
Your content looks different every month. Inconsistency is the most visible symptom of a program without a strategy. When the visual style, tone, and subject matter shift from week to week, there is no brand accumulating. There is just content filling a calendar.
You cannot describe what your program stands for in one sentence. If your coaching staff cannot articulate the identity of your program quickly and clearly, your content cannot communicate it either. A content strategy starts with that answer and builds everything around it.
You post after games but go quiet in between. A program brand is not built in the two hours after a final buzzer. It is built in every moment that reveals who you are when the game is not being played. If your feed only comes alive on game days, you are missing the story.
Your followers are mostly parents and current players. When your content is only reaching the people already inside the program, it is not working hard enough. A content strategy is designed to expand reach, connecting you to recruits, community members, and people who have never heard of you but would care if they did.
You have won games that nobody outside your gym knows about. If your program's results are not translating into a growing reputation, the content is not doing its job. Wins that are not told are wins that are wasted from a brand standpoint.
If any of these sound familiar, the fix is not a better camera. It is a clearer strategy and a partner who knows how to build one. That is exactly what I do.
